Parable of a Leaf Blower

Referencing the genre of parable play in a satirical diatribe on the social object of the gas-powered leaf blower, this work considers the myth of the American dream, neoliberal capitalism and property ownership. Sounds produced by both human and machine investigate the social tension of the gendered voice and gendered object. Scale reinforces the absurdity of the scene; materials evoke child’s play but point to adult social constructs.
